Nutrition Coaching
It's easy to get lost in the day-to-day of life. Nutrition is something I am passionate about, particularly helping clients feel better about the food choices they make so that they can feel more empowered and in control of life.
Rachel Dubrow, LCSW, PMH-C
Uncover and overcome the barriers towards an easier, more practical way of health.
You're stressed out from the day. The last thing you want to focus on is cooking, meal planning, and getting the exercise you need to feel calmer, more engaged in life, and able to manage stress. You feel overwhelmed about your health and where to start and keep thinking about everything social media feeds you about what to eat and why. You need a guide - and someone who gets it without giving you all the medical or a meal plan you know you won't use or won't stick to.

Frequently Asked Questions about Nutrition Coaching
What is Nutrition Coaching?
Nutrition coaching is specialized support in learning more about your relationship with food, nutrition, and your lifestyle in general. We talk about things like your stress levels, sleep, social interactions, relationships, and the things in life that make you feel good and not as good. From there, you set some goals and I will support and guide you in ways you can work towards achieving them.
Are you a dietician or nutritionist?
No, I am not a registered dietician (RD) or licensed nutritionist. I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified by Precision Nutrition as a level 1 nutrition coach.
Will you give me a meal plan to follow?
You will not get a prescribed meal plan from our work together. However, you will learn more about how you currently make choices about the foods you like, don't like, and might be curious about trying. I give a lot of handouts that are action-oriented and that you can implement into your own meal planning so that you feel more in control over the choices you make and actually want to eat!
What is a first nutrition coaching session like?
I will provide you with a questionnaire to complete before we meet. It helps guide me in figuring out the things you do that you're already good at and the things that might need some tweaking to be more useful to you. When we meet, I will be able to then give you some feedback based on the questionnaire and teach you a thing or two to get started. I'm all about the 5 minute changes in life, so expect that you will leave with one thing to do that takes 5 minutes or less to work on before our next meeting.
What can I expect will not happen in a nutrition coaching session with you?
I will not give you a specific diet plan. You will get food ideas from me. If you want a specific plan, I can refer you to my trusted registered dietician colleagues for help with that. If you are more medically complex, I will send you to my trusted licensed nutritionists who can help interpret bloodwork and get you on the right track. I may also recommend that you circle back with a primary care doctor or specialist that you are already working with on more chronic condition management.
You can also expect to not be lectured by me. I'm just not that type. I know a lot about many things but am in no way an expert. YOU are the expert of yourself and I hope to learn and be educated by you so that I can guide you in the best way possible. I'm not here to tell you the things that aren't working - you know that already! - I am here to give you more of a full picture view of what choices you have to be happier, healthier, etc.
Do you accept insurance?
Nutrition Coaching is separate from therapy services and is not covered by insurance.
